My second cousin's first cousin, Kurt Vonnegut, once famously said "G*damit, you've got to be kind!" (I met the great man exactly once. There is no blood relation.) No truer words have ever been spoken when it comes to occupants of vacation rentals, and, by extension, neighborhood B&Bs. Sometimes it seems as though people simply don't have any manners any more.

Who can argue with the desire expressed by one individual in this article to raise his family in a stable neighborhood "free of tourists vacationing for short periods and then leaving?"

On the other hand, the man did select a "neighborhood" located in one of the most visited pieces of "Paradise." A region that is all but completely dependent on said tourists for its income. Why not pick a small town in, say, Wyoming instead?

As always, there are at least two sides to the story. But everyone can agree that it would help enormously if people would be kind. -- Alfred
